Housekeeping: 


- Book talks continue tomorrow!

- We will be increasing our reading at home over the second term, so start looking around for good books to read!

- Grade 8: Pink Registration/Transfer form due Friday, January 24th.

English:


- Rehearse.  Rehearse.  Rehearse.  (book talks)

- Read your novel.  First reading response is due Thursday at midnight.  The assignment is on the GC.  Reading response.  

Math:

-  Grade 7 + 8: TEST tomorrow!  Yeah!

-  HOMEWORK for tonight:
- Practice balancing equations: I have posted an assignment on the GC with MULTIPLE equation balance games.  After playing several of the games, try the final link (XP Math - Math Games Arcade...) as it serves as an excellent test of your knowledge.

History:

- Grade 8: Manitoba worksheet due Thursday after the break

- Grade 7: Expulsion of Acadians due the Thursday after the break

French:

- Review the blue sheet of character traits; quiz on Friday

- 

Science:

-  Experiment grade 7 and 8 due next Thursday (viscosity, density, and solutions)

Health/Phys-Ed:

- Practice reading your PSA aloud.  Time it to ensure it is under 20 seconds.  Finally, make sure you add a call to action. 

Art: 

- Be done the trading card in three weeks.


MUSIC: 

- 

DRAMA: 

- Present drama scripts this Friday.  Make sure it's memorized!

Housekeeping :  - Your child's diagnostic results came home in a SEALED envelope.  Please read it over, sign the tear-away portion, and return it to me.  If I have any serious concerns I will be contacting you to set up a quick meeting.  - Next week (Thursday) is "Meet the Creature"/"Meet the Teacher" night.  I will be in my class around 5:30 if you would like to come up and chat.  This is not time to discuss your child's individual progress (save that for the veggies aisle of No Frills!).  This evening is to go over the plans for the year, discuss how I evaluate, and ensure everyone is on the same page. - Cell phones...the lunchtime supervisor has notified me that she has seen (on many occasions) the grade 8s in my class on their phones during lunch.  This is my final warning: NO cell phones except for when we are using them for classroom purposes (which is RARE and is under my supervision).  Parents/Guardians, please have a discussion...
