Housekeeping

- Your child's diagnostic results came home in a SEALED envelope.  Please read it over, sign the tear-away portion, and return it to me.  If I have any serious concerns I will be contacting you to set up a quick meeting.

- Next week (Thursday) is "Meet the Creature"/"Meet the Teacher" night.  I will be in my class around 5:30 if you would like to come up and chat.  This is not time to discuss your child's individual progress (save that for the veggies aisle of No Frills!).  This evening is to go over the plans for the year, discuss how I evaluate, and ensure everyone is on the same page.

- Cell phones...the lunchtime supervisor has notified me that she has seen (on many occasions) the grade 8s in my class on their phones during lunch.  This is my final warning: NO cell phones except for when we are using them for classroom purposes (which is RARE and is under my supervision).  Parents/Guardians, please have a discussion with your child about the proper use of cell phones.  After today, if you get a call from me about your child using their cell phone at an inappropriate time we will be asking you to keep the cell phone at home.

Kudos to: The class for getting 116 cars to honk in response to our brilliant posters!
