Housekeeping:

-  Grade 8 Parents: a list of all high school open house events can be found here
-  Explain to a parent/guarding the secret to forgiveness and share the video we watched today (link here)
-  Make sure your rock is painted - we do a delivery tomorrow!

 

Kudos to: Rumaisa, for being dead on with her estimation of the girl's height.  This is the second day in a row!  Kudos also to Emily for her perfect prediction of what was to happen in Egghead.

English:

- Still waiting for a few EF graphs to be completed (this is also a math mark!).

- Short Story Contest through CBC (max 2500 words).  I would be very happy to help anyone who would like to submit a story.  Details found here
- 

Math:

- Grade 7+8: 4.1 and 4.2 tonight (students had close to 60 minutes in class to work on this, so it's not too expecting too much).

- The expectations for the fractions mini-unit are up on the google classroom.  Take a careful look at it and come see me if ANYTHING makes you begin to sweat profusely.  We haven't tackled a couple of the expectations, so hold tight on those.

- Fractions assessment continues tomorrow - anything that has been taught is fair game!

History:

- Grade 8: complete the page 9 of the census worksheets.  This is due next class.  DO NOT show up next Monday saying: "Ummmm...Mr. Le Moine....I didn't do it because I didn't understand the questions....".  You have one week to do this, so check it out tonight!

- TWITN for next week: Emily, Ava L., Ava H., Paige, and Camilo

French:

- Sing your part of the song again, and again, and again, and again until it is stuck permanently in your head!

- Listen and sing along to  "Terry Fox". 

Science:

- Science words due

Health/Phys-Ed:

- Tomorrow is our House Challenge!  I'm looking for awesome spirit!

Housekeeping :  - Your child's diagnostic results came home in a SEALED envelope.  Please read it over, sign the tear-away portion, and return it to me.  If I have any serious concerns I will be contacting you to set up a quick meeting.  - Next week (Thursday) is "Meet the Creature"/"Meet the Teacher" night.  I will be in my class around 5:30 if you would like to come up and chat.  This is not time to discuss your child's individual progress (save that for the veggies aisle of No Frills!).  This evening is to go over the plans for the year, discuss how I evaluate, and ensure everyone is on the same page. - Cell phones...the lunchtime supervisor has notified me that she has seen (on many occasions) the grade 8s in my class on their phones during lunch.  This is my final warning: NO cell phones except for when we are using them for classroom purposes (which is RARE and is under my supervision).  Parents/Guardians, please have a discussion...
